For the 1st design of my Ronald Reagan flag project I had a blue proud husky with Ten white and blue rays extruding outward from the husky on the left side. The Blue and white color scheme not only represents Reagan but the blue represents, like the husky, trust, loyalty and wisdom that are found in the students of Reagan. The black in the flag represents the past, while the white represents the fresh start the students of Reagan have, since they've made a transition from middle school to high school they have opportunities to discover what they want to do with their lives, make new friends and experiences. The husky has a prideful posture representing the pride the school. The ten rays represent the ten IB learner profile traits expected in every student. The ten rays are arranged in a way that they seem to be protruding from the husky, this symbolizes each students voice to express themselves with their academics, art, sports, or any extracurricular activities.

MPS logo
Cuba
The Cuban flag consists of five horizontal stripes where two are white and three are blue. In the left part of the flag, a red triangle and a white five-pointed star are located. Three blue stripes denote three Cuban departments, white purity of ideals of people fighting for independence, and red recalls the blood shed during these fights. Each of the peaks of the triangle points to one of the ideals of the Cuban revolution - liberty, equality, and fraternity.

The Marshall Islands
From the lower left corner of the sheet, rays of white and orange color are gradually expanding towards the upper right corner. On the left side of the flag, a white star with four long and twenty shorter rays are placed. Twenty-four rays represent the same number of administrative districts of islands and the long beams are referring to the Christian tradition in the islands and four local largest cities. The orange color of the upper bar indicates the wealth of islands, while white represents hope. Dark blue background evokes the Pacific Ocean that surrounds the islands.

For the 2nd design of my Ronald Reagan flag project I have 3 stars in the left corner each a different size and representing the 3 different IB programs offered at Reagan. The one has ten rays coming from it, the same number as the IB learner profile traits that students follow at Reagan. Its also the biggest from the 3 because it represents the full diploma IB pogram which is the hardest and the most honorable from the three. The second one two is the middle of the two in size, this represents the career related program from Reagan. The third star which is the smallest star represents of course certificate program. There are rays coming from bottom left corner, these Rays represent growth, the growth that each student experiences from the start of high school to the end. This growth is further symbolized with each distinct ray which vary is in size starting with the smallest representing High School and the largest representing senior students. The blue represents ,trust, loyalty and wisdom found in students, the yellow represents Mps, and the hope of a bright future after high school.

Process
First I sketched the flag design onto my drawing paper making sure I make very light marks on the paper, as to erase later if I made a mistake with out permanently marking the paper. After I'm done sketching. I used black and light blue color pencils. I made hard and deliberate strokes, doing my best to not leave any white spaces where I didn't want any. It was supposed to be a flag, so it needs to look like its one solid color.
When the flag was ready and colored, I had to cut out the presentation board. the bored had to be 1.5 inches from the flag on the sides and the top. But the bottom had to be 2 inches from the flag. The board was over sized so I had to cut out my desired proportion. I placed my flag in the middle of the presentation board marked the corners, and then using a t-ruler, I made the marks of where I was going to cut the outside of the presentation board. Then, using a exacto-knife and a cork ruler, I cut out the board using the markings and the ruler to cut straight. When making cuts I made them slowly and soft so I can make them nice and precise. When the board is cut out It's time to glue the flag to the presentation board. Using Aerosol Glue I spray the back of the flag and then carefully place it on the markings so that it will be allied. |

Experimentation
When starting to design for Ronald Reagan high school's Flag I First wanted to just represent the school. I included only the colors of the school , blue, white, gray, black, and I wanted to represent the school mascot in some shape or form. These are more abstract and aren't very simplistic, full of detail that would make the creation process time consuming and costly.
The next couple I wanted to represent MPS and IB along with Reagan, so I included the colors yellow from MPS, dark blue and white for IB and Reagan. Then since Reagan is an IB high school I wanted to include the 10 IB learner profile traits that all IB high schools are taut and exercised in the day to day life of a student in an IB school
The last of the flag designs I wanted to represent the 3 programs of IB. Red for the regular diploma program, Purple for the career related program and blue/white for the full IB diploma program. Or I would represent them with stars. I also wanted to still represent the 10 IB Learner Traits.

Reflection
When creating the Reagan flag, I didn't find it very difficult to find meaning into the flag since there was plenty of symbols and imagery and I could have used that represents a Reagan. Difficulties only arose when it came to creating the flag with color pencils. I had to press hard and make deliberate strokes because if I didn't, one would be able to see even more clearly the overlap in the strokes. I tried to use my main inspiration the Cuban flag, by having almost the main I attracting component on the left side which attracts the eye. But I don't believe I was very successful in this aspect, due to the fact that the Husky is the same color as the the rays which take up almost 65% of the flag. It feels like the husky just blends in with the background this could probably be fixed by changing husky to maybe a darker or brighter hue. Another good solution would be changing the colors of the Rays instead of being blue they could have been yellow to represent MPS and a bright future. Overall I believe that this flag could have been better but as of right now it is adequate.
